I recently joined a local Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team in Training (TNT) program. This program will assist me in training for and running my first marathon. On June 17, 2006 I will run 26.2 miles at the Mayor’s Midnight Sun Marathon in beautiful Anchorage Alaska. As if being a graduate student and training to run a marathon wasn’t ambitious enough, I have also committed to raise $4500 to support the Society’s goal of fighting and finding a cure for blood related cancers.
Every TNT member is training in honor or remembrance of someone with cancer. I am doing this in remembrance of my mother, Denise. I have decided to put my energy into something positive, that can help other people dealing with cancer.
I am asking that you share in my commitment and support the LLS by making a donation. Any amount that you can give to help the Society’s work will be greatly appreciated. Your donation will help provide funding for research and patient aid. All donations are 100% tax-deductible and at least 75% of every donation goes directly to fund research and aid patients.
