Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am training to participate in P.F. Chang’s Rock n’ Roll Marathon in Phoenix as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training (TNT). All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of my friend and colleague Marcio in addition to all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
On Monday, November 12, a high school friend lost his 10 year old son Cameren to Leukemia. Go to the site below to read Cameren’s story and see how many lives he touched. I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress as I’ll be updating it weekly. As you can see I’ve completed ten weeks of training, only 8 weeks to go! There was some tendonitis that had me sidelined for a couple of weeks, however I stayed active by volunteering at races, fundraisers, and still attended every training event…..walking what I could.
The knee is healed up now and I’ve completed my longest run yet! A Half-Marathon! I have a new regiment post-run including an ice bath, aspirin, and icing my knees for several hours. If our heroes can go through chemo and other therapies I can certainly handle the ice baths, knee pain, and now blisters!
