On Sunday, June 1, 2008 I completed the San Diego Rock and Roll Half-Marathon with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. It was a fantastic experience and something that will stay with me the rest of my life. This was my first event and a little bit overwhelming, but as you can see from the photo I finished the event - along with my training partner Jill. I am really motivated to do another half marathon and to improve my finishing time. I will be walking all summer and in August I will begin training with Team in Training for the Disney Half-Marathon event in January 2009 in Orlando.

I was really proud to be part of the Team in Training group made up of people from all over the United States and Canada who were getting fit, challenging themselves and most importantly - raising money to fund research and patient services for the thousands of people struggling with blood cancers. This was a very uplifting and inspiring event and I feel really great to have been a part of it and I am committed to continuing this effort on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphomas Society.
