I am training to participate in the La Salle Chicago Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. As a participant in Team In Training, I am raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

I'm completing this event in honor of Darian, an eight year-old boy here in West Palm Beach with Leukemia. Darian and his family are are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young adults under 20. The form that Darian has, Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), is the most common type of leukemia in children. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society supports the treatment and research of blood and bone related cancers in people like Darian and is currently assisting Darian’s family with his treatment. The Society’s program dedicates a minimum of 75% of every donation towards cancer research and the support and treatment of cancer victims. A small donation can make a personal difference in the lives of those afflicted with blood and bone cancers:

pays for cost of a patient’s chemotherapy co-pay.

registers another person as a bone marrow donor.

provides patient with transport to treatment center.

provides patient treatment for a full year.
