Racing to Save Lives
RACE IS THIS SUNDAY JULY 16 AT 6AM Welcome to my Team In Training home page. Swim 1 mile in the Hudson River, then jump on a bike to race 25 miles and finally, run 6.2 miles…Sound tough? Yes, but it doesn’t compare to the challenges that those with blood-related cancers face daily. More than 712,000 Americans have these cancers, and every five minutes, someone new is diagnosed with blood cancer. On July 16, I will compete in my very first (and, honestly, probably the last! Who knew it was this hard!?? Jeezoflip!) triathlon event—The New York City Triathlon, Olympic distance! ! I have been (brutally?) training since Feb. with The Leukemia &Lymphoma Society’s TEAM IN TRAINING (TNT) to raise money to find a cure for blood cancers--leukemia, Hodgkin or non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and myeloma. I hope you can join me on this important journey to eradicate blood-borne cancers. Donations are tax deductible. Please visit my site often to track my progress—both in training and in fundraising! Along with the fundraisers listed on the right, I'd also like to thank the following very supportive people to whom I'm deeply grateful: GEG KESSLER, FRAN JANKOWSKI, DAISY CABRERA, ANN BENNER, MARGIE KAHN, HEATHER HARRINGTON, AMY MALL, Ron and Pam Kessler, Doug Arbesfeld, John Altman, Mark and Jean Brenner, Kelly Grigsby, Eve Chalom, Virginia Broich, Anshuman Vohra, Davina Armstrong, Goli Fassihian, Max Gomez, Carmen Lorenzo, Philip Swayze, Susan Kahn, Janice Fridie, Trish Eitel, Hollister Hovey, Kellie Walsh, Patty Neger, Sara, Pat Englehart, Jill Kalman, Paul Wynn, Ron Shafer, Graciela Rogerio, Ellen (Log!)
