Lake Tahoe Century Ride: 01 June 2008
Hi.
Most of you know me as Marty, the 28-year old designer from New York. You may also know that fighting this disease is very personal for me. In 2005, my cousin Kevin should have been in remission from Hodgkin’s. Instead, cancer spread to his head, neck, and tongue. He died at age 43. Kevin was a legend in our family and we miss him so much. Three weeks later my mom, Winnie, died at age 61 after a five year fight with breast cancer. My mother touched countless people with her endearing grace. More recently, three friends have been diagnosed and are undergoing treatment for blood cancer. It’s all around me, and if I can’t spark a cure with will power I can at least help fund-raise for one. So, I’m committing myself to fund-raising with Team in Training® and riding for my mom and cousin in “America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride” on 01 June 2008 at Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
For corporate donations and individuals at the highest level, I would be glad to wear your company logo or name on my jersey.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.
