Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I am training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and multiple myeloma from taking more lives.

I'm completing this event in memory and honor of my dearest father who I sadly lost to multiple myeloma in 2002. My father fought courageously for almost four years but unfortunately the disease was too potent. It's been tough for my family and me and I've always wanted to do something for him and I'm sure this is one of the most meaningful things I can do.

I am also completing this event in honor of all individuals who are courageously battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.

I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!

Update

September 2007

Did a lot of mileage this month (up to ten miles!) and started a Facebook.com group to advertise about my event a bit more (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5434892510) and also have a web log on Livejournal to record my progress there. http://runfrodorun.livejournal.com/profile (need to log in to view entries though)

May 2007 I just started running and yesterday's practice on the 22nd of May with the group was pretty nice. I trained in Central Park so it's really nice over there and met some teammates that I will hopefully run with during the days that we do not train. I ran 3.5 miles yesterday and it felt really good. I do intend to do treadmill work again and to get buff like i used to do a lot. so yes, i will keep you all informed of progress (like when i actually run 26 miles ;)
