Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
Believe it or not, I recently signed up to participate in a triathlon. On September 26, I'll swim 1.5km, bike 40km, and run 10km. Yes, all in one day. Pretty crazy, considering at this point I can run 3km, swim less than half a kilometer, and when I signed up, I didn't even own a bike!
It's going to be quite a challenge, and thankfully, I won't be doing it alone. I will be participating in the Westchester Triathlonin Rye, NY along with members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training program from New York City.
Each team member will be racing on behalf of the Society, and a blood cancer patient. My honored teammate is Amanda DeMilt. Amanda is 30 and lives in Brooklyn. She was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma at age 25, and has been in remission for almost 4 years. I will be training with Amanda for the next 4 months - she's way ahead, though, as she recently completed the Gulf Coast Half-Ironman!
I have two goals to accomplish. The first is to raise $3000, and the second is to complete the triathlon. I have begun training for the tri, but I need your sponsorship to reach my fundraising goal. You can donate any dollar amount - every little bit helps!
All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
Huge thanks in advance for your support in this exciting endeavor!
