Nautica New York Triathlon - July 22, 2007 - TEAM in Training
Support cancer research! A race for the cure!
~Welcome~ I am training to participate in an Olympic distance triathlon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. I will be swimming 1.5km (.93 mi), biking 40km (24.8mi), and running 10km (6.2mi) in the New York Nautica Triathlon commencing on July 22, 2007 (www.nyctri.com).
Not only is this my first triathlon (of many hopefully!), but I am attempting to raise $2,500 by July 1st to assist medical research on leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, and myeloma.
Leukemia, in particular, has personally affected my family and I am dedicating my race to: my great grandfather, Clinton Warren (62), my great Aunt Jean (Beverly) Egerer (64), my cousin Susan Egerer (13), and my cousin David Egerer (18); all of whom struggled with Leukemia and lost the battle.
Also, I race in honor of all of those who have been afflicted by cancer, not just blood cancers. The people fighting these conditions are the inspiration for our team and I hope that my participation in this event can make an improvement in their lives.
Please take this opportunity to support a great cause and make a donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and our efforts at Team In Training. Thanks so much for visiting my page; your aid and encouragement is greatly appreciated!
-Catherine
