Racing to save lives...again!
I am excited to be raising money and training for the NYC triathlon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training.
I am also serving as a mentor to 4 new participants, which means I'm there to cheer them on from the first practice until they cross the finish line on July 20, 2008.
Once again I am doing all this in loving memory of my Uncle Phil who bravely fought multiple myeloma for many years. He was loved by us all and left us far too soon.
Please consider making a donation to support my participation in TNT and help advance the mission of The Society. Every penny counts!
Thanks for your support!
Best Wishes,
Kara

Update: June 3
I completed my first sprint tri of the season and it felt great to be racing again. The swim was tough, bike was hilly, but the run was great.
Update: May 4
Training is no longer focused on "building a base," but has moved into a new "trying to kill me" phase with lots of hill repeats.

Keeping up with training has been difficult recently with work commitments picking up, but I manage to fit sessions whenever I have time to spare.
Being a mentor is awesome! I'm lucky to have a group who are great training buddies and also dedicated to the cause. ..all around great people.

Training is going pretty well. I swim on Monday evenings at 9:30 pm, which is a hard time to be diving into a pool when I would rather be diving into bed.
