Runnin' from Country Music

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I am training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

My girlfriend and I are both raising money for this cause, and we'll be running together in the Nashville Country Music Marathon on April 28th, 2007.

Visit Alison's Team In Training Page Here.

If we don't make it through this in one piece, at least it's for a good cause.

Check back often. I'll be posting training stats and pictures as we progress.

11/19/2006 Ran to catch my flight. Almost passed out
11/26/2006 Ran 3.3 Miles around Prospect Park. Couldn't walk without a limp for 3 days.
12/5/2006 Our first official practice at Central Park. With the mercury topping out at a balmy 34 degrees, it was the perfect weather for a jog in the park. I hardly noticed the time pass. Burgers and beers afterward at Jackson Hole with teammates was the highlight of the evening. Serious burgers.
12/9/2006 Twenty degrees. Windy. The weather seems to be working in our favor. Looking forward to shorts in February. Alison and I ran further around Prospect Park than we ever have before, so it was a good day of training.
1/21/2007 It's been awhile since I added something to these notes, but this past weekend, Alison and I competed in the New York Road Runners Manhattan Grand Prix half marathon, so it's a milestone worth writing about. It was freezing, hilly, and the furthest we've ever run.
1/28/2007 Still in one piece a week after the half marathon. The shin splints have started to subside, just in time for an IT Band issue to rear its head. I'm not even sure what an IT Band is, other than i walk like i'm wearing a knee brace after 10 miles of running.
