So you're here viewing my page because you heard some crazy rumor that I'm running the Nike Women's Marathon on October 21, right?

Well, let me set the record straight: No, I have not lost my mind. Yes, I know how long a marathon is. I'm pretty sure that it's not the 26 miles but the .2 that really get you.

Why?
  • Because I have a little extra time (and weight) now that I'm not planning a wedding.
  • Because I like a good challenge. Refer to previous reason. Greg's still a work in progress.
  • Because Team in Training (TNT), the fundraising arm of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, is an amazing program.
  • Because I'm relatively young (don't bother-I can't hear you snicker online). I'm healthy.
  • And I've been lucky enough that I haven't had to face cancer myself. Unfortunately, more than a million people in the US will be diagnosed with some form of cancer this year. The blood cancers (leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and myeloma) will account for about 10 percent of cancer deaths.

You and I can't cure cancer- YET-but we can support the critical research that will one day lead to a cure. The money you donate will go toward funding blood cancer research, education, and patient service. Every gift makes a difference. Please, please donate now.

If you can't make a contribution today (let's be honest here- you can), then the LEAST you can do is join me on one of the long runs I have coming up. Or meet me at the finish line in San Francisco.

Love y'all, Tash
