Jessica Haas's Race for a Cause
Racing to Save Lives
It has been 3 months since I started training and I was running about 7 miles less then I am now. Not long ago I ran my second race, thats me crossing the finishline. The race was the New York Road Runners Bronx Half-Marathon. If it wasn't for my participation in Team-In-Training I may have never thought I would be able to run a 13.1 mile race.
I’m taking these strides to help raise $2400 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as a member of its Team-In-Training program. My team and I are training to run the New Jersey Long Beach Marathon to raise funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. Through sponsoring me in this training, your much-needed and much-appreciated donations will go towards finding cures for blood cancers like leukemia -- the No. 1 disease killer of children -- and help patients receive treatment. By donating to this great cause, you have the chance to make a huge difference in someone’s life (and you will have already made a difference in mine by motivating me to complete my goal and helping donate to a cause that I’m passionate about).
I hope you will donate and/or pass this message on to individuals interested in this worthwhile cause. 100% of your donation is tax deductible and 74% of each dollar goes to research, so your donation will make a difference. We will be accepting donations until April 1st. Also, feel free to show up at any of my races to cheer me on!
Thank you for all your support.
