Senja Collins's Team In Training Page
Racing to Save Lives
Howdy from Lubbock, Texas. Who would have thought that back in January of 2002 when I made the decision to join Team In Training that I would be part of the worlds largest endurance training program as a coach, mentor and friend to many? We have all embraced the notion that each of us can help find the cure for cancer by getting involved to promote research and patient care. It takes great time and effort to make the strides to find the cure. I believe that in my lifetime that will happen. But to make that happen we each have to continue to fundraise for that cure. So, I continue to walk and help train people of many shapes and sizes to become athletes. They go the distance to train for full and half marathons. I go the distance so that for each and every patient I work with in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit can see themselves cured. This winter I plan to compete against myself by improving my race time from my first marathon of 5 hours and 52 min. I will tackle 2 marathons: White Rock Marathon (my very first marathon in 2002) and the Austin Marathon. In addition to improving my actual race time I plan to also challenge myself by raising $4000. I can't do that without your help. Follow me along my journey the next 6 months. Watch me SUCCEED. Be a HERO. Help SAVE lives. Be generous and DONATE. Thank you.
