Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I have decided to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. In the last seven years I have had two children, completed my bachelor's degree, and I will graduate with my master's in May of 2007. Needless to say I let myself go. I decided it was time to get into shape and I wanted to do something for someone else at the same time. Team in Training and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society hits close to home so this is why I am where I am today.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. Specifically, I am walking in Honor of Sue Collier and in Memory of Jim Collier. As well as in Honor of my husband's Uncle, Kevin Crockett and in memory of his other Uncle, Allen Crockett. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
This cure is not far off. At our kick off our director, I am terrible with names so I can't remember her name informed us she was told that she would not have a job in 2015! Now you would think this was not good news. In reality this is excellent! This means that it looks as though we will have a cure for cancer in just eight years with the help of all who donate to continue this important research.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission. I will be paying my own way for my entire family to go to San Diego so all of the funds I raise will go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and not for my travel expenses. Every little bit helps and no donation is too small. I need to raise a minimum of $3800.00 by May 21, 2007.
Today is my deadline! Thanks to all who donated. I will make up the difference to meet my goal but I can collect donations for up to 30 days after my deadline. So please donate if you can. The more we raise the better for cancer research and the quest to find a cure. No donation is too small!
