Racing to Save Lives

Who would of thought, that being a triathlete could be so fun?!

Welcome friends and family to my Team In Training home page.

I am training to participate in the Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon in Fairmount Park as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Please be generous and give from your heart. PAY IT FORWARD! Each dollar raised goes a long way to making a difference in the lives of others.

And if you are unsure of contributing at this time, please keep in mind Christian and Kailey.

Christian is a 9 year old boy who suffers from Down's Syndrome and is currently in remission for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). Christian loves wrestling, and his favorite wrestler is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Christian fought like The Rock and beat leukemia.

Kailey is a beautiful 7 year old girl who loves spaghetti and crafts. Kailey kept her sunny smile while battling Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, and won. She completed her theraphy in September of 2006.

But for every success, there are many more patients out there who are fighting daily for their lives. Families who hold bedside vigils praying for cures, and for support. To these patients, and their families, you are angels. You are a life line to hope, and a promise of finding a cure.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission to eradicate all blood cancers and improve the quality of life for patients and their families. We need you!

I hope you'll visit my web site often (and feel free to donate as many times as you want). Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress, and please forward my page on to you friends, families, and co-workers.

Thanks for your support, and remember your contribution helps save lives!

MY PROGRESS:

May 29: I apologize for the lack of updates. The last couple of weeks have been busy with the end of the school year, graduate school preparations, turned 26, and of course training.

In the last couple of weeks I have participated in several races as I get closer to Philadelphia. On May 6th, I ran the Lakewood Ambulance Chase 5K and finished in 31:04. May 20th, I ran in the Cleveland Marathon, Half-Marathon, and 10K and completed the 10K in 1:04:51. This past weekend I completed a sprint triathlon in Columbus finishing in 2:04:35.

On Sunday June 3rd, I will be heading down to Deer Creek State Park in Circelville, Ohio to complete a second sprint triathlon.

Thank you all for your continued support and keep those donations coming!
