Racing to Save Lives
THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR DONATIONS AND PARTICIPATION IN THE DANCE PARTY!!!
With the help of EVERYONE INVOLVED, we raised over $2,000 dollars with the Snowflake Ball alone! The evening was enchanting with the beautiful lights, music, and atmosphere. It was so classy and perfect there was even a proposal on the dance floor! We look forward to doing this again next year and hopefully double the amount of people going!
I will be throwing up individual recognition next week sometime (or whenever I get a few hours to type out all the names!!!)
THANK YOU AGAIN!!! Dear Family and Friends:
You may want to sit down for this one. I’m training to run a 26.2-mile marathon to benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! Maybe you’d like to reread that last sentence. It’s true – there’s no misprint! I’ll be running the Rite Aid Marathon in May. I have always enjoyed running but have never ran more than 8 miles.
Many other participants talk about lifelong goals of completing a marathon. I NEVER have thought of it before. In fact, I’m spending plenty of time talking about how I must be out of my mind. I spend, though, even more time enjoying life with my family, having exciting goals and being an active part of my community. And The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is helping make that possible through their Team In Training program. I have a coach, training regimen, nutritional advice and a great group of experienced runners who offer plenty of support.
As I trudge through each mile, I’ll have those close to us who have had Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s Disease or Myeloma on my mind. We have all been effected, one way or another, by one of these individuals and their battle against cancer. Coping with life-threatening illnesses, these people have gone on marathon runs for their lives. What’s 26.2 miles compared to their true long-distance struggle for life.
My commitment to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and those close to me is to raise $1600. Maybe you’d like to reread that last sentence too. Yup – $1600 that will go towards research aimed at finding a cure for Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s Disease and Myeloma. However, I plan to go far above my goal.
Would you please join me in this effort? I can’t make it without your love, enthusiasm, caring and financial support. With this said, I have arranged a night of dinner, dancing, drinks and much, much more that you will never forget! I am hosting a Ball / Dance Party to raise funds for this good cause (and have a great time doing it). Help me raise money for those we love by joining me for a night to remember. A table will seat 8 so get your group together and call me today! Seating is limited to first-come first-serve.
Sincerely,
- John Videc
