Kickin Butt and Takin Names!

Drew McCollum and Adam Shane

Thanks for checking out our page!

Ever see a bear swim? That’s what Drew looks like in the water. Ever see Adam run? He looks like he is running from a scene of a crime!

So how did these two friends ever come up with such a hare brained idea as to compete in a Half Ironman Triathlon AT the HARDEST course in the WORLD? They will be competing in the Avia Wildflower Triathlons on May 2nd – 4th for an honorable cause, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Drew McCollum has had some personal experiences with losing a friend this past year to Leukemia and one month later receiving the news that another friend was diagnosed with Leukemia. Adam Shane lost a good college friend recently to Leukemia, It was these losses that motivated these two friends to try to raise a combines $9,800 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!

Basically, they committed to raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Society would train them to compete in a half ironman distance triathlon (that is a 1.5 mile swim, a 56 mile bike, and a 13.2 mile run), at one of the most grueling courses on the planet, Wildflower (Lake San Antonio California).

Leukemia is the number one cause of death in children between the age one and fourteen; approximately 300 people a day are diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, or myeloma.

"We are both very fortunate with our health and would like to do what we can to help others who are suffering", says the two friends and co-workers.

Please help support them in this project by contributing a donation to their cause. All donations are completely tax deductable to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as a non-profit 501(b).

Training for this event has been a challenge for both Drew and Adam but pales in comparison to the challenges that blood cancer patients have to endure on a daily basis. Please join these two in spirit by contributing. Whatever you can give will help – it all adds up!

Since their event is May 5th, they ask you for your attention and support now. Please call Drew McCollum at (216) 536-6920 or Adam Shane at (216) 469-8704.

Thank you once again for your consideration. Check back frequently for their progress. You might even see your name on the scrolling bar of great donators!
