Scott Martin and Heather Pennington: TNT 2008
Riding With A Reason
Welcome to our 2008 Team In Training online headquarters!
In 2005 Heather and Scott completed the Seagull Century 100-mile bike ride in Salisbury Maryland, raising over $6,000 from generous contributors like you.
In November 2006, they finished the 109-mile El Tour de Tucson ride in the Arizona desert (view the pictures at their Shutterfly gallery), raising over $8000 for Leukemia research and patient services.
At a very young age Heather lost her Mom, Nancy Spies, to Leukemia. Heather and Scott are continuing their involvement in Team in Training in honor of her mother's memory, as well as in honor of all of the amazing people that we've met over the last two years that are battling cancer or have loved ones affected by the disease.
We ask again for your support to help stop this disease from taking the lives of anyone else's loved ones. Heather and Scott have pledged to make it to another finish line, and hope you will help them aid the researchers and care providers who are working to cross a different finish line - finding a cure.
Please make a donation to support their participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission. Our fundraising goal this year is to surpass our $8,000 success from 2006. We know that we will be successful in both raising the money and completing the event thanks to the support of people like you.
Please visit here often. This page will be updated with Scott and Heather's progress as they move toward their goal. Thanks for your support!
