Racing to Save Lives
April 13, 2008 my team and I completed a sprint Triathalon. I feel great. Thank you all for you support!
I am training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training - Fort Lewis College Tri the Rim Triathalon- - Race Date Sunday, April 13, 2008. Swim 500 yards, Bike 12 miles, Run 3.1 miles.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! With your support our chapter has raised more then $32,000. Gracias!

Mar 18, WMHS 1 hour swim - laps.
Mar 15, 12 mile bike along I-25 eastern bike trail & 4 mile run around UNM N golf course
Mar 11 - 1 hr swimming - 1100 yards.
Mar 8 - brick training, 12 mile bike, 2 mile run at La Cueva High School.
March 7 - 8 mile bike ride.
March 4 - 1 hour swimming, learning flip turn.
Mar 3 - 2 mile jog
March 1 - 26 mile ride (2hrs) Sandía Casino to I-40 along Tramway + Elena Gallegos path
Feb. 28 - 20 x 25 yards at UNM pool
Feb. 23 - 20 miles along the bosque, starting at Tingley Beach. 1.5 mile jog (about 8 min mile).
Feb. 19 - lap swim at WMHS. Swimming at about 30s every 25 yards. After 34 yrs, I'm finally learning how to lap swim.
Feb. 16 - 25 miles bike ride (90 min) from Paseo to Corrales.
Feb. 12 - 1 hour swim practice. I can go 50 yards in 1 minute 15 seconds. Felt much better.
Feb. 9 - 15 mile bike ride (55 minutes) along Tramway road, then 1 mile jog (9 min 15 sec). I'm still in it.
Feb. 5 - 1 hour swim training at WMHS pool - 600 yards. I felt like I drank much of the pool.
Feb. 2 - Started team training - 15 mile bike ride along the bosque (my old stomping grounds). 1 hour training. I feel good.
