Racing to Save Lives
Welcome.
As many of you may remember, January, 2007, I completed the Phoenix Rock 'n Roll Marathon and raised over $5,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It was a major event in my life, as I'm not an athlete and never in my wildest dreams considered walking a marathon at the age of 60. My work as a therapeutic musician brought me into contact with Lisa, a 34-year-old single mom who was dying of leukemia
In May, 2007, Dave, my husband, joined the elite fraternity of cancer survivors. Obviously, this event has made an impact on our lives. Cancer does that, I have found out.
So here we go again—I am now mentoring 4 newcomers to Team in Training who will walk the San Diego Marathon on June 1, 2008. I plan to be there with them.
Please help me reach my goal of $3500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Your thoughts, good wishes, and donations will get me across the finish line along with my mentees (all of whom are much younger than I am). Every mile and $ gets us closer to a cure!
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. I thank you for your support. My email is donese@swcp.com. I'd love to hear from you.
