Mary's Running a Marathon!
Racing to Save Lives
Don't let the fact that I've achieved this mininum goal deter you! Remember that the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society can use every donation to find a cure for blood cancers!
Those of you who know me might wonder at this latest endeavor to run a marathon – since my basic activity level could be compared with a snail (except I think those animals move more). But last November, my mother passed away in part due to myeloma, which is a blood cancer. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society raises money to research cures for blood cancer and also has programs to help people who are battling blood cancer. They have a program called Team In Training that trains people to participate in endurance events in return for raising money in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. They have promised that they can take a couch potato such as myself and train me to run a marathon – and I want to do this in memory of my mother so that someday no one will suffer from blood cancers.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. If you want to track my training progress, visit my blog at Finding Mary’s Mind. Thanks for your support!
