Gina Hundley's Team In Training Page
Racing to Save Lives
Hi Everyone! Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
We did it!!!
This past Saturday, the 29th of September, Jose and I completed our first Olympic Distance Triathlon! It was a beautiful day in DC, and perfect for the event. Even the swim in the Patomac wasn't too bad! Now that I know I can do it, I want to it again... but faster!! The best part of the day was knowing that I did this while raising money for a great cause.
THANK YOU to everyone who made donations- your support really gave me motivation to keep pushing! It felt great to cross the finish line on Saturday, but I've still got a little ways to go to meet my fund raising goal. There is still time to donate, so if you've been meaning to make a donation, now is the time!
We both decided to do this as members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers.
We're the ones who will have to swim in the Patomac River (trust me, this is all the motivation I need to keep my swim time as short as possible...),bike 40k, then run a 10K, but these people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
