Darrel Bimberg's Team In Training Page
Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my fundraising webpage.
I am training for the San Diego Half Marathon on June 1st.
I am doing this with Team In Training to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Please donate to this cause, and support the LLS! www.lls.org
Your generosity is appreciated, and helps those with blood cancer find hope.
There are many people affected by blood cancer. When I first joined forces with Team In Training, I only knew of people who knew people who were fighting blood cancer. Since joining, and starting my fundraising, I have come to find several people with whom I have daily contact are affected by Leukemia or Lymphoma. Blood cancer affects many more people than I realized. Now I am determined to far exceed my fundraising goal so those who are fighting a blood cancer may receive help.
We need your help to find a cure. Any donation helps advance the cause.
UPDATE APRIL 17th
The weather is turning warmer, and it is increasingly more fun to be outside!
I pushed Corey(4 1/2 year old) for 6.6miles... man, the jogging stroller is a great sail.
Looking forward to crossing the 8 mile marker this weekend at Baker park.
That means, a lot of hills too...
I have been very happy with my pace lately, between 8:30 and 9:30 per mile...
UPDATE MARCH 13th
Went running last night with the Team In Training team!
What a lot of fun that was. Went 6.5 miles, a new record for my training season!
With the weather warming up, I intend to get out 4-5 times per week.
I am at 3 times already this week, with plans for friday and saturday
Likely sunday too!
Thanks to all who have helped in this cause.
UPDATE FEBRUARY 27th
I am up to running 4.5 miles in one shot now. In addition to this, I am decreasing my time on my 4 mile runs as well. Team in Training has kept me motivated throughout the cold weather we've had.
I would like to thank MSBN(www.mnsportsnetwork.com) for graciously posting a link from their homepage.
I also would like to thank the NBC-Dyansty League(www.nbcdynasty.com) for the generous support I have received.
UPDATED mid-February
Went running outside today. 3.5 miles in -1F temperature...
What fun!!
Running outside is actually quite enjoyable, even in the cold,
so long as the wind isn't blowing too hard!
Check back here often to get updates on my fundraising, as well as my training!
Thank you
