Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
Well, it is only a week away. Can you believe it?! Thanks so much to all who have helped me reach this goal. Training is still going well. I ran 20 miles this past Sunday - boy was it HOT!
Well I will be running 26.2 miles – my first marathon in Anchorage, Alaska on June 21, 2008.
About a year ago, my friend's granddaughter was diagnosed with leukemia when she was about 2 years old. Now close to age 4, she has undergone chemotherapy on a regular basis. By the time she is 5, a huge chunk of her life will be spent going to hospitals and clinic visits. The treatments not only affect this young girl, but also impact her entire family. She is still doing well, but has recently been hospitalized for a virus. Her blood counts are off and chemo is on hold until she is stronger.
Meanwhile, I have another friend whose brother in law was just diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. She lost her brother to leukemia a few years ago.
I am training to participate in this endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training (TNT) to help eliminate the pains and daily struggles of not only this beautiful little girl, but for all who have or still do suffer from blood cancers.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. People suffering from these diseases are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! Please search your hearts and help me meet my goal of $5600 toward eliminating this monster that impacts so many lives.
I am willing to help “run the race to save lives”. Won’t you consider making a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission?
To donate, check out my website at http://www.active.com/donate/tntmida/tntmidaRGann or if you’d rather, you can mail it to me at 930 Dustin Street, Warsaw, MO 65355.
You ARE the difference!
