Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am training to participate in the St. Louis Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
3/25/08- Two weeks of training left. Saturday has been my longest run to date. I ran 20 miles, and did it in pretty good time. I was pretty sore afterwards for a couple of hours, and quite tired for the rest of the day. This weekend is a short 8-10 mile run, and the following weekend will be the race.
2/10/2008-I've completed 13 weeks of training and made a 16 mile run yesterday. The first 13 were a breeze! I NEED TO RAISE MORE MONEY THOUGH, so will need to start to focus on that.
1/26/2008 - 11 weeks of training down. Today was our longest run so far (12 miles). I made it! So far so good.
12/31/07-Seven weeks of training are complete. I'm right on track! This weeks long run will be 8 miles, and I don't think it will be a problem, but they really start jumping up from here on.
11/24 - 2 weeks of training. So far so good. One word; OUCH
12/1 - Week three complete. I did all of the runs during the week with no problem. My good friend Eric Pfeiffer about killed me on Saturday though. We only ran a short distance (5k), but his pace is so much faster than mine that it felt like I ran much farther.
11/17 - One week of training in the books. So far so good. I made all the runs easily, but they have started out pretty short, and at a slow pace.
