Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am going to be participating in The Mayor's Midnight Marathon in June 2008. This will be my first time walking a marathon. Wish me luck!
I'm walking in memory of my best friend Mat (aka Goofy). I met him when I was in only second grade. He was two years older than I was, but only one year ahead of me in school. We grew up together and I expected to have in him in life throughout my adult years as well.
Mat had leukemia as a child, but after a long treatment he went into full remission. He remained in remission throughout his childhood and adolescence.
He passed away in 1997 after being diagnosed with leukemia again. My heart broke when I learned that my best friend wasn't going to be with me. I couldn't imagine my life without him.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training. I am raising money to help find a cure for blood cancers. I don't want anyone else to lose someone close to them.

Training Updates:
2/2/08 ~ Our first group training was today. I didn't walk as far as I would have liked to. Coach says the important thing is to walk more each week. I see I have a lot of work to do to get ready for Alaska!
