Racing to Save Lives...
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am training to participate in an endurance event (The Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego - June 1, 2008) as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
More specifically I'm racing for Kaylee Quijas, my team's honored patient. This wonderful little girl is 15 years old and is a sophmore at Lee's Summit West. Kaylee was diagnosed with leukemia on June 21, 2007. She has been fighting and taking her treatments without any complaints, while missing out on the fun of high school. Kaylee and her family had major problems at first with a liver that was shutting down from the chemo, and rapid weight loss. Since those first days Kaylee has fought back and is in remission. She was just recently denied her maintenance phase due to her low counts and immune system. She needs me, my team and you more than ever right now. To meet and learn more about Kaylee please feel free to visit the following website: www.kayleequijas.blogspot.com
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and to support a race to save lives - especially those lives like Kaylee's.
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
