Racing to Save and Honor Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am training to participate in the Philadelphia Triathlon on June 24, 2007 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
Training for this triathlon has taken its toll over the past 6 months and it is an extremely challenging athletic event, but it is nothing compared to the physical and emotional challenges of living with cancer day in and day out.
My personal mission in completing this event is to remember and honor my mother, as well as to honor and support Kelly Hatfield (http://kellyhatfield.tripod.com/) who has been living with and working on her own endurance event with acute lyphocytic leukemia (ALL). Kelly's struggle has been going on for 4 years now, and it is a struggle that her whole family participates in -- mothers, fathers, daughters, sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, EVERYBODY that Kelly and her family knows. These people are the real heroes on our team.
