Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

Hi everyone. Here is an update on my training. I am up to 11 miles of running now on my long Saturday runs. For those of you who know me well you know that this is big. Until this training I had never run more than 3 miles at a time ever. But, running a half marathon (13.1 miles) is not just another project to pass the time or a ploy to get in shape. I am training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. This cause has a special place in my heart. I lost my uncle, John Paterik, to Leukemia. He was a treasured son, husband, father, brother, and uncle. I hope that this run will honor his memory as well as raise funds to fight the illness that took him too soon from this world.

All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

A gift of only $25.00 can provide two prescriptions for a patient. It takes just $75.00 to fund a researcher for half a day of work. The gift of $100.00 will supply a laboratory with supplies and materials needed for daily research. It takes $1,000.00 to fund a research lab for a whole week.
