I did it!!!
I'm officially an athlete...
Welcome to my Team in Training home page.
I finished the Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon in San Diego, California, on June 3 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training.
I did this event in honor of Cameron Diamond, a 7-year-old girl in Crofton, Maryland, who was diagnosed with leukemia (ALL) at the age of 6 weeks old. In her first year of life, Cameron endured chemotherapy, full-body radiation, and a bone marrow transplant, as well as several months living in the hospital, thousands of needles pricking her tiny arms and legs, and the horrendous side effects caused by treatment that even adults find unbearable.
Cami has been in remission for almost 7 years, yet over the past year has experienced some health setbacks most likely due to her leukemia treatment as a baby. This little girl has had a tough year, let alone an unusually physically traumatic life.
Cameron and all children and adults who have had or are currently battling blood cancers are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission. Cameron and her family will be eternally grateful. As a leukemia survivor myself, I thank you as well.
