2/6/07 - Hey everyone!!! Thanks for stopping by! Thank you to every single person who donated and put up a banner on their webpage. I feel like we really helped get the names Team in Training and LLS out there and hopefully a lot of people will participate in this amazing program. I completely dominated the marathon and did way better than I thought I would! My final time was 4:28:48. Through Team in Training, I raised almost $5,500 for the LLS and our Maryland team raised over $100,000. Below is the website that helped me raise a lot of the money and you are free to donate and keep checking back for the next couple months until it is taken down! Thanks again to everyone involved, we are surely making a difference! Love, Bryan

| For those of you who don't know, I'm running a marathon to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on January 15th, 2007. I've never attempted something like this, but I know that all the work I will be putting in will go to a good cause: to help the people who are affected by cancer. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has a program called "Team in Training," where they help people like me train for a marathon to help me raise money for blood cancer research. So many of our lives have been touched by cancer and I want to do my part to help get rid of this terrible disease. |
|
| I will be training hard and running this race for anyone who has been affected by these diseases, but especially those who are close to me: my mother, grandmother, both grandfathers, aunt and my great uncle. My mother has had cancer several times: she has survived both thyroid cancer and melanoma. She is a strong woman and I owe more than my life to her. My grandmother is currently being treated with chemotherapy for multiple myeloma and my grandfather has just finished radiation treatments for prostate cancer. My aunt has successfully recovered from breast cancer. On the other side of my family, my grandfather is currently being treated for prostate cancer and my great uncle passed away due to complications from prostate cancer as well. As you can see, cancer has affected (and continues to affect) the people that I love and I wanted to do something about it. |

| The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services. The Society's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop these diseases from taking more lives. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! |
