Support Team Kati

One step closer to a cure...

“Everyone has problems, cancer just happens to be mine.”

- KATI FISHER, honored teammate, friend and hero

Thank you for visiting my page! I know that your time (and money) is valuable, but I ask that you please read below and pledge what you can TODAY.

As you may know, I have run three marathons for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team in Training. Four years ago, I met my honored teammate, Kati Fisher, a 12-year-old who had been battling leukemia for three years. Kati met our team every Saturday at 7:30 am and cheered us on along the trail. She did this while undergoing aggressive chemotherapy. This picture in my mind is a constant inspiration:

I’ve been running for two hours and I’m tired and sore. I hear a young voice ahead, cheering me on. When I look up at my cheerleader, I see a small girl with no hair, swollen cheeks, big bright eyes and a huge smile. She gives me water, a warm hug and I’m back on the trail. I look back and notice that she’s crawling into her dad’s car to rest up for the next stop. I realize that she feels worse than I’ve ever felt, and yet she’s here to support us. I decide that I’m really not that tired after all...

Kati was a hero to many. But Kati often called TNT participants her “heroes.” When she was honored by “Make A Wish”, she chose the San Diego marathon as her dream destination. She told her father that she wanted nothing more than cheering her team on all the way to the finish line. One of Kati's dreams was to train for the San Diego marathon and raise money for LLS when she turned 16. Kati wouldv'e been 16 this year and this is the race she wanted to run. Although Kati is no longer with us, we are running the San Diego marathon with her and for her hopes and dreams. We are Team Kati.

I will keep my pitch short: Please donate TODAY by making a contribution online. It’s quick, safe, & tax-deductible. If you can’t donate online, please EMAIL ME at amy_cruice@yahoo.com and I can tell you how to donate by mail.

Please help me raise a HUGE amount in memory of Kati. Remember: LLS guarantees that 75% of what I raise will go directly to families battling blood-related cancers and independent researchers looking for a cure.

Thanks for your support!

Love and Peace,

Amy
