Running to Honor Lynn - The Final Fundraising Mile!
Thank you to everyone who has donated to my Team in Training fundraiser in honor of my friend Lynn! We did it! We raised an amazing amount of money for blood cancer research and treatment! Now I have the privilege of running with Lynn's name on my singlet knowing that she and her family will be there at the finish line. Thank you for making this all possible!
If you are visiting my website for the first time, I'm running this year's Boston Marathon in honor of my friend, Lynn Jackson, who was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia in November and has been waging a courageous battle ever since. Lynn was on the sidelines to cheer me on at Disney World when I ran my very first marathon in 2004. She was there again when I ran the New York Marathon in 2006. I feel very privileged to run my 3rd Boston Marathon in honor of Lynn and the other people in my life who have battled Leukemia - my law school friend's daughter, Alexa, my softball teammate's daughter, Mckenzie, and Sarah's classmate, Holly.
It's easy to feel helpless standing on the sidelines watching a friend or family member battle a disease like Leukemia. Lynn has cheered me on through the challenge of running a marathon. Helping Team in Training raise over $1 million for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is my way of cheering Lynn and others on in the much more difficult challenge of battling cancer.
People like Lynn are the real heroes of the Team and every dollar raised brings us that much closer to the finish line of finding a cure!
Thanks for giving what you can and for helping me honor my remarkable friend!
