MONTAUK CENTURY COMPLETED !! AMAZING I RODE ALMOST 105 MILES -- LAKE TAHOE HERE WE COME !!! REDEFINING GOALS $7,500 -$10,000 LET"S GO FOR IT !

OUR GOAL OF $4,500 ACHIEVED - YES !!!!!

When we are motivated by goals that have deep meaning, by dreams that need completion, by pure love that needs expressing, then we truly live life.

Dear Family, Friends, Co-Workers, Neighbors and Business Owners,

On June 1,2008, the Leukemia Lymphoma Society will be hosting a Century Bike Ride in Lake Tahoe. The course circumnavigates the highways clockwise around Lake Tahoe and includes two challenging climbs. It is my goal to raise enough money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society to enter this event. The amount needed to ride in this event is $4,500, since I have surpassed my goal, my new goal is now $7,500. I will be riding in honor of and for three people for which I will wear three red wristbands to represent each person:

My cousin, Matthew DeSantis , who died of this disease at the age of 12

Elizabeth Harman ,a very dear friend of mine who was diagnosed with Lymphoma at the age of 24 and has been in remission for more than ten years

Linda Leeb, my best friend for almost 30 years who passed away Oct. 24,2007. Even though Linda had MS, I ride for her because we take the simple things in life, such as walking and riding for granted, her birthday would have been June 3 (the same week as the ride)

From my Journal: Linda & Matthew are my inspiration. Elizabeth is my symbol of hope. As I near those final miles, those will be my thoughts. I ride for Matthew, a child who should of been able to enjoy a whole life, for my friend Linda, who will live on forever because she is with me and I take her on this journey with me. I am also honored to ride for Elizabeth, to fight for a cure that is just around the bend, so as many turns and pedaling as it takes - I will pedal.

My desire and drive to do this is very personal as you can see. We all need to be participants in life. Life is so fragile and can change in seconds. I have learned this lesson the hard way.

I take all of you with me on my ride and will be drawing from your strength and prayers. With your help, I will meet my fund raising goals as well as the physical challenges it will take to train for such an event.

I will become a part of Team in Training. Team In Training's cycling program offers the opportunity to take on the challenge of 100 miles and make a difference in the lives of Americans living with blood cancers. I

If you have any corporate connections, please ask on my behalf for their support in my endeavor. Corporate sponsorship of $1000 will earn them a place of honor on my jersey as well as all cyclists in my group.

God bless all of you and please support the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and me. Thank you for your support and prayers. Any support big or small is greatly appreciated. Together we can make a difference. Please make all check s payable to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and forward them to me. If you have a loved one you would like me to ride in honor of please forward me their name(s) as well. I will then place your name on my sponsorship form.
