Racing to Save Lives

Thank you everyone for all of your support. My ride from Babylon to Montauk was awesome on Sunday despite a flat tire near the end but it was fixed and I rode in before the rain! Now all that's left is TAHOE! Check it out at bikethewest.com. Two weeks to ice my knee and prepare for the elevation and inclines of America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride.

America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride is another 100 mile race around Lake Tahoe. My goal is to fund raise $4,200 by May 22, 2008 to make my personal contribution to the efforts to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

As you may or may not know, blood cancers are the second most fatal form of cancer, second only to lung cancer. Someone new is diagnosed with a blood cancer every five minutes. Every ten minutes, another child or adult loses the fight. Leukemia is the #1 cause of cancer death for children and the survival rate for Myeloma is only 32.4%.

The devastation that cancer has caused is everywhere.
