Racing to Save Keegan and friends
Welcome to my Team In Training home page. Doug and I are training again this year to run the Chicago Marathon for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Of course, our inspiration AGAIN is our son Keegan.
Keegan was diagnosed March 1, 2004, three months after his 6th birthday. He has gone through multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation since then. He relapsed May 4th of this year, in spite of the fact that he was still on chemotherapy.
Keegan's doctors think a bone marrow transplant offers the best chance for him to survive, and we have been actively looking for a donor. (GET TESTED AT YOUR LOCAL BLOOD BANK FOR THE NATIONAL MARROW REGISTRY!!)
Like every year before this, when we sign up for this marathon, the future of our family is uncertain. But we are determined to keep moving, with the support of Keegan's Team.
