Molly Beestrum's Team In Training Page
Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page. I have some news -- I have decided to run both the Chicago Distance Classic Half Marathon and the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon! The running has been going so well I have decided to push myself toward an additional goal.
I am doing both of these events as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this half marathon in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. My Team in Training patient honoree is Rhonda Kottke, a survivor of Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and TNT competitor -- she completed her first half marathon in 2005. She, like others with blood cancers, is the real hero on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Two events with LLS TNT means that I have two events to fundraise for -- that is where you come in. Instead of raising $1300 I now need to raise $2100. The fundraising is going well -- I finally updated the offline donations so the total you see is fairly accurate. I have made one final change to the goal total -- with my dearest friend, Taryn, coming all the way from Japan, we decided to up the ante a bit, so now the fundraising goal is $2700. Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. You can also check my blog at http://runninghalf.blogspot.com/
Thanks for your support!
