Racing to Save Lives

Dad at Heidi's wedding, shortly after chemo, looking good! One of his main goals was to live long enough to see his baby married, and he made it. He died about 9 months later.

Welcome to our Team In Training home page.

We are training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

We are completing this event in honor of our dad, Duane, and all individuals who are battling blood cancers. Dad died in 2006 due to Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). He had a good 10 months between diagnosis and his passing. During that time he was able to reflect on faith, family and his legacy. He mentioned at one point that he felt so humbled that the Lord blessed him the life he had. As his family, we feel blessed to have had that time to share with him. But we feel that continued research and education may eradicate the disease and spare families from going through what we had to. We are thankful for Team in Training to provide us the opportunity to help in this regard!

Please make a donation to support our participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.

We hope you'll visit our web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see our progress. Thanks for your support! Here are some others that we are honoring with our run:

Isaiah Rodriguez - Isaiah is an 11 year old boy from Eagle, ID who is is desperate need of our prayers. He is in the thick of treatment for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. His family has relocated to Seattle for treatment. Check out his website for info and updates on Isaiah: http://www.overcomeaml.org/

We are very humbled to be running for Isaiah and his family.

George H. Bradley Jr. - Tony's dear friend Barbara Fuller's Dad passed away from lymphoma in 1984. We are honored to remember him.

John Sieveke - Tony's buddy Jim had a brother die of leukemia. Jim has been active in TNT in Tucson. John's wife is Peggy. We will remember them as we train!
