Dear Friends and Family,
Last June, in Maui, I completed my first triathlon with Team in Training.
It was, needless to say, an amazing experience ! As I crossed the finish line I was filled with emotion thinking how many peoples lives that would be benefiting from this race . It inspired me and made me want to do more .
So this year, I decided not just to do "another triathlon" but simply the most ultimate race in the world ... IRONMAN !
I will be competing in IRONMAN CANADA on August 27th, 2006 .
Swim; 2.4 Miles, Bike; 122 miles, Run: 26.2 Miles
It will be an amazing race for me not just because it’s an IRONMAN race but primarily because I am doing it as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training program.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and Myeloma from taking more lives and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
I'm doing this race in honor of Bianca Angotti.
She is a 5 year-old girl from Santa Rosa who was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2002. Bianca is currently in remission and doing well.
Since joining TNT, I have met many children and adults who live in our community that are battling blood cancers.
These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line – a cure.
