Journey to the Ride

Dear Friends and Colleagues

I am training to participate in the Tour of the California Alps, also known as the "Death Ride" as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

The California Death Ride is a very tough one day ride - 129 miles and 15,000 feet of climbing. This would make it one of the hardest mountain stages ever in the Tour de France. For those of us who like to climb or want to like to climb mountains this is our chance to take on one of the most challenging rides in cycling.

I will only accomplish this feat with help from the coaches, mentors, captains, my fellow riders, my friends and family's moral support and YOUR financial support. Even if I complete the ride, a total success is contributing to the battle to cure blood cancers.
