Hey there: Welcome to my Ironman Canada / Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training home page.

In April 2005 I competed in Ironman Arizona and took my mind and body to a place it had never been before. It took long days and months of training to finish in 13 hours 28 minutes, 1 hour and 2 minutes under my goal. As I crossed the finish line I told myself “I will never do this again”. Wrong!!! I knew about Team In Training (TNT) and their cause, fundraising for “The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society” and decided to look into it further. They participate in several events (triathlons, marathons, century bicycle rides etc.) all for fighting cancer. I was motivated to join TNT this year because my younger brother was diagnosed with lung cancer (now in remission) and my sister hit her 5 year mark as a breast cancer survivor. I also have a very dear friend who has been battling Leukemia for several years.

Thinking about them and everyone battling cancer, I decided to participate with TNT and do Ironman Canada in August of 2006 and raise whatever I can to help battle this disease. Where I take my body in the upcoming months training for this event does not compare to where those who are fighting cancer take their bodies to every day. Going the distance (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run) and raising funds is the least I can do for my family, friends and others who go the distance every day

I, and all the members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training, are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
