Race for Robin-Jim Willett's Team In Training Page

Help me fight cancer!

Hello all,

As you may or may not know, I am currently training to participate in the Wildflower Triathlon on May 7th, 2006 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training and in honor of my mother Robin. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a national voluntary health agency dedicated to curing various types of cancer and to improving the quality of life of patients and their families. The Society supports the following major programs: research, patient services, public and professional education, advocacy and community services. The triathlon is May 7th, 2006 at Lake San Antonio in Monterey County, CA and will consist of me swimming .93 miles (1.5k) in the lake, then hopping on my bike and pedaling 24.8 miles (40k), and then I'm finally in the home stretch with a 6.2 mile (10k) run to the finish line. I have no doubt I will finish this challenging race as I will be thinking of my family, friends, and countless others I know who have been affected by cancer.

I’ve been entertaining the idea of competing in this race for quite some time now and couldn’t make up my mind if I was ready to take on such a big commitment. After the passing of my Mom, I immediately made up my mind to commit myself to this race, in honor of her.
