IRON PALMIRA

My Journey to Ironman and to find an end to cancer!

Welcome to my Team In Training Ironman Canada home page.

If you are reading this then you are one of the hundreds of people whom I will meet during my ten month journey to Ironman Canada - my first Ironman triathlon.

I am training to participate in Ironman Canada 2006 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. For those of you who don't know what an ironman is, here is an idea of what I will be enduring. An Ironman is a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run!

I have come so far in such little time working with Team in Training and have learned many things since I began triathlons. I've learned that my ability to push myself far exceeded my expectations, I've learned that age truly is a state of mind, and that my body can still get stronger and faster everyday, I've learned that the support and encouragement of my family and teammates is the extra ingredient that gets me across the finish line everytime, and I've learned that cancer never takes a day off.

All of us on my team are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this Ironman in honor of a family friend diagnosed with Lymphoplasmacytoid Lymphoma and all of those battling blood related cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.

I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check my training log frequently to see my progress. You can find it by going to:
