Join Me in the Race to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

On August 31, 2008, I will be participating in the Louisville Ironman Triathlon to raise funds on behalf of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. An Ironman Triathlon consists of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile run, all which must be completed within a 17-hour time frame. In order for me to complete this challenge I have committed to a 9-month training regime that will have me training anywhere from 5-18 hours a week. I will be training and participating in the Ironman with Team In Training, which is the world’s largest endurance sports training program.

Team In Training participates in events to raise funds and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society whose mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. Since its founding in 1949, the Society has invested more than $550.8 million for research specifically targeting blood cancers.

I have committed myself to raising money towards finding a cure for leukemia and lymphoma. Although I have pledged to raise a minimum of $8000, my goal is to raise $10,000, all which will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

You can help make a difference and fight cancer by sponsoring me as I participate in the Louisville Ironman Triathlon. A generous donation will go a long way and will be put to use immediately by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

You can keep up with my journey through training and the events leading up to the Ironman by periodically reading my blog at: http://ironmancaesar.blogspot.com. I hope you will join me in the fight against cancer with your generous support.

Thank you,

Caesar Garcia
