Sharon Seliga's Team In Training Page
Racing for Cathi
Hello everyone! Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm over the minimum! Anything you donate goes 100% to the cause! Thanks to all!
In honor of my sister in law Cathi, who is battling peripheral T-cell lymphoma, I am training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. I will walk the course of
The Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon
June 23rd in Anchorage, AK.
In order for me to do this, I must raise $3900, and that's where you come in. All donations are 100% tax deductible, and 75% of all monies collected go directly to our mission! You may donate anonymously if you wish.
My training involves daily individual workouts, and weekly group training with local and larger groups, starting on February 3 and runing until just before the race. A marathon is 26.2 miles, and I WILL cross the finish line with all those miles behind me!
Every time someone donates, I will be pushed a little harder, and it'll keep my hope up. Knowing you are all behind me, and behind Cathi and her family, will keep me going when the going gets tough. And with the coach we have, a former Olympian, I expect the going to get very tough very soon. Training starts in the rainy season in San Francisco. Bad weather will not result in any more rest days than the one day a week built into the schedule. I will be out there in every element that gets thrown at me. Will you support me?
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, but in particular, my sister in law, Cathi. These people are the real heroes on our team; they endure every day, and for more than a season.
Please donate for these folks and for Cathi!
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. I'll post it weekly starting mid-February. Thanks for your support!
