I’m training to participate in PF Chang’s Rock N’ Roll Marathon on January 15, 2006! Yes, a MARATHON! Me!!! Running!!! Without being chased!!!
I've joined The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training program. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I bet this is the LAST thing you ever expected me to be announcing! Me! A MARATHON!!! But my heart goes out to those diagnosed or yet to be diagnosed, because I also bet that was the last thing they and those who loved them expected to hear. I hope your heart goes out to them as well. After meeting some of the honorees we’re running for, and hearing their personal stories, struggles and sacrifices, completing this marathon and raising money on their behalf seems like the very least we can do to help.
Every five minutes, someone in the United States learns that he or she has leukemia, Hodgkin or non-Hodgkin lymphoma or myeloma. Every nine minutes, someone dies of a blood cancer. Most people either know someone who has been affected by blood cancer or will know someone in their lifetime.
I'm COMPLETING (yes, I’m determined to actually finish) this marathon in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Every dollar you donate will bring the Society closer to finding a cure for blood cancers. Donations online are secure and all donations are 100% tax-deductible!
