Debra's Journey to Ironman Canada
You've got to dream big!!
On August 27, 2006 in Penticton, British Columbia, I will complete a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and a 26.2-mile run – all within the official race cutoff of 17 hours - to cross the finish line at Ironman Canada.
To help me get there, it seems only fitting that I join and support the same organization that got me over the finish line of my first endurance event 3 years ago – Team In Training (TNT), a division of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the world’s largest endurance sports training program. In exchange for coached workouts and support in the months leading up to the Ironman, all of us on TNT are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I hope you will join me in this journey by offering your support. My goal is to raise a minimum of $7,500. Your tax-deductible gift will be used to support research, patient services and educational programs.
To date your generous donations have brought in $4,000. Our team collectively has raised more than a QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS!!!
I greatly appreciate ANY amount that you are able to give. Your support, encouragement, words of inspiration and understanding (as I disappear over the coming months to put in the training hours required to succeed) will do so much more than you may ever realize.
Be sure to check back for updates on my progress. Thank you for your support!
