It's that time of year again!

I am training to participate in the Spirit of Saint Louis 1/2 Marathon April 15, 2007, as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of Papa Steve (Luke's father) who is battling multiple myeloma. Papa Steve is the real hero on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Papa Steve was diagnosed with multiple myeloma on Thanksgiving 2005. As difficult as treating myeloma is, Steve's case is further complicated by the fact that he is in renal failure. His treatment options have been limited by non-functioning kidneys.

Papa Steve was able to spend Thanksgiving 2006 with his entire family (and his very favorite Maggie)! As anyone with a loved one suffering from cancer would tell you, every moment together is priceless!

We need YOUR help to make more Thanksgivings possible... not only for Papa Steve but for the countless others who are suffering or will suffer from a blood related cancer.
