Belinda's Race for a Cure!
A Challenge of a lifetime.
Updates!
As of 9/30/2007, I have less than a month to go to the race and I CANNOT wait! So far in the last two weekends, I have run the farthest I have ever thought I could achieve. I ran 18 miles on 9/15 and ran 20 miles on 9/23 and let me tell you, it felt good to finish. I did it and felt great (a couple days later).
We have started to taper our runs and now, 12 miles seems doable. LOL.
Again, to all the people who have supported me in my endeavour, thank you so much!
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training.
I repeat, I am training for a marathon! Sometimes, even I can't believe that! But I was inspired by my friend, Rowena de Jesus, who trained and completed the marathon last year! Pretty amazing.
As a teacher in Special Education, I get to work with some very special kids everyday. They don't always get a chance to enjoy the very things we take for granted, and so I race for them.
As I train for this race, I realize that it's a challenge and a journey to raising money for a very important cause: cancer research.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
